Dr. D.E. Williams of the USDA discovered that biting flies are attracted to sunlight as it shines through a particular translucence of fiberglass. Olson has designed this cylindrical fiberglass trap to attract biting flies from a wide area in pastures, fields and near stalls. Coated with a clear adhesive, biting flies cannot escape once they have landed.
